Steve serves on the Liberty Mutual Business Lines Agency Council, the Selective Insurance Northeast Agency Council and is Co-Chair of the Main Street America Insurance Northeast Agency Council. He is an Advisory Board member for the Kendall C. & Anna Ham Charitable Foundation and a long-time Trustee of Fryeburg Academy.

Dottie is the fourth-generation owner and Chief Operations Officer at Chalmers. Her psychology degree from Bowdoin College has translated into a passion for talent development, mentorship, and motivation and engagement in the workplace. She supervises the middle-management team and is celebrated as a dynamic coaching leader who invests in her co-workers’ professional and personal growth – all of which she sees as key to the agency’s longstanding success. Dottie has successfully transitioned her agency from performance management to performance development, embracing a shift in mindset from “manager as a boss” to “manager as a coach.” In addition to agency management, she is a professionally trained Leadership Coach and currently facilitates the Emerging Leaders Program at Chalmers.
Advocating for and promoting women in insurance, in particular, is a passion of Dottie’s, earning her published white papers in The Standard and “Be The Last Agent Standing” magazine for her article, “Being Female In Insurance.”
Dottie is a Director of the Board of the Institute of Family Owned Business in Maine (IFOB), currently serving on the Executive Committee as Past Chair. She is the 2023 recipient of the Leaders and Luminaries Award presented by Camden National Bank as a result of her Leadership as Chair of IFOB. She is the 1st Vice President of the board of Girl Scouts of Maine, actively working on the Board Development Committee and the recruitment of new board members. She is also an active volunteer for Junior Achievement of Maine.
In her free time, she enjoys downhill skiing, strength training, riding her Peloton bike, and spending time with her husband, Adam, Director of Information and Security at Chalmers, three children: Sofia, Mackenzie and William; and golden-doodle, Zealand. She lives in North Yarmouth, Maine.
Jim is a fourth-generation owner of Chalmers and Chief Sales Officer. A graduate of Bowdoin College, Jim is passionate about expanding niche programs, such as Chalmers Camp Insurance, and strives to provide comprehensive insurance and risk control solutions to all of our clients.“Our family has always been extremely involved in our community.
